The Manitou Crisis Response team contacted a man in the Manitou Springs Police Department lobby. He was found to have attempted suicide several times over the previous days. He received medical attention from the Manitou Springs Fire Department, then was transported to a hospital on a mental health hold.

Officers received a report of a vandalized bathroom at the skate park, in the 100 block of El Paso Boulevard.

 

NOV. 30

MSPD assisted an outside agency with interviewing a juvenile witness in the 8600 block of Chipita Park Road.

A man reported that he had warrants for his arrest. He had multiple El Paso County misdemeanor warrants, and officers located him and arrested him.

MSPD received a report of a man throwing large rocks through several windows in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue. He was identified and the investigation is ongoing.

The Manitou Crisis Response team assisted the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to check the welfare of a suicidal person in an unincorporated area. After an investigation, a young woman was placed on a mental health hold and transported to a hospital for evaluation.

MSPD responded to the 400 block of Ruxton Avenue, where a woman reportedly entered an occupied residence without permission. Felony trespassing charges are being sought.

Officers stopped a speeding vehicle near Crystal Park Road and Manitou Avenue. They then arrested the driver for being under the influence of alcohol.

 

DEC. 1

MSPD responded to a vehicle parked in the center lane of Ruxton Avenue near Pilot Knob Avenue. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle’s owner but were unable to, and the vehicle was towed.

An adult was arrested on a local misdemeanor warrant near Manitou Avenue and U.S. Highway 24. 

 

DEC. 2

Officers located an illegal camp while checking an area on the city’s east side. They learned that one man there had been reported as missing. He replied that he was OK and didn’t want any assistance. MSPD updated the person who had reported him missing and his information was removed from the national database.

MSPD stopped a vehicle for multiple traffic offenses, including displaying fictitious license plates, in the 400 block of Manitou Avenue. The officers discovered he was wanted on a local misdemeanor warrant.

 

DEC. 3

After seeing a vehicle swerve and not use a turn signal, officers stopped it near Highway 24 and Ridge Road. The driver was then arrested for being under the influence of alcohol.

 

DEC. 4

MSPD followed up regarding a man in the 00 block of Willa Lane who had made vague threats toward various city employees the previous week.

At 1840 hours, officers responded to check the welfare of a person in the 300 block of Plainview Place. Once on scene, they determined it was a false report and the person made threatening statements to the officers. The person was arrested for aggravated assault on an officer and transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
