The Manitou Springs Police Department has temporarily moved operations into a trailer in the Manitou Springs Pool & Fitness Center parking lot, 202 Manitou Ave.

DEC. 27

At 0913 hours, officers responded to a traffic accident near Manitou Avenue and Beckers Lane. Damage was minor and no one was injured.

A 25-year-old Colorado Springs woman reported a sexual assault in the 00 block of Grand Avenue.

 

DEC. 31

MSPD responded to a to a non-injury traffic accident in a business parking lot in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue. After an investigation, the driver was found to be at fault for damaging private property and was cited and released.

Officers were dispatched to a criminal trespass in the 3000 block of West Colorado Avenue. When they arrived, they located two people sleeping in a vehicle. Drugs were located and one person was cited for amphetamine possession.

A vehicle was towed from the Manitou Avenue/Serpentine Drive area, where it had been abandoned and was blocking the roadway.

MSPD responded to a vehicle vs. deer traffic accident on westbound U.S. Highway 24. No one was injured.

 

JAN. 1

Officers stopped a weaving vehicle that almost struck a curb at 26th Street and St. Anthony Street. The driver, a 67-year-old Colorado Springs woman, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The Manitou Crisis Response team assisted the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to check the welfare of a suicidal person in the 2800 block of South Circle Drive. A man was placed on a mental health hold and transported to a hospital for evaluation.
