The Manitou Springs Police Department located a traffic accident on eastbound U.S. Highway 24 near mile marker 299. No one was injured, and the drivers exchanged information.
MARCH 26
Officers observed a speeding vehicle in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver was subsequently arrested for being under the influence of alcohol.
MARCH 27
MSPD received a call for service regarding an active disturbance in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue. The suspect was served and released on third-degree assault charges.
MARCH 29
At 0152 hours, officers responded to a cold criminal mischief report in the 900 block of Manitou Avenue. The suspect was apprehended and taken to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on multiple charges.
A man was captured on video surveillance stealing from a business in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue. MSPD identified him, and he will be cited if located or a warrant will be issued for his arrest.
Fraudulent activities were reported in the 00 block of Grant Avenue.
MARCH 30
Officers checked the welfare of an elderly male resident of Narrows Road; he was transported to the hospital.
A juvenile was reported missing in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue. Contact was made with him via phone, but MSPD is still trying to locate him.
MARCH 31
Officers responded to a cold criminal trespass report in the 100 block of Spencer Avenue. Transients had broken into a shed to inhabit it. The MSPD has suspect information.
MSPD was dispatched to assist the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office with a felony menacing incident in the area of West Colorado Avenue and Ridge Road. Officers contacted one person in the 00 block of Manitou Avenue. He was detained and interviewed, and a large knife was confiscated and will be destroyed. No criminal charges resulted.
APRIL 1
A domestic violence incident occurred in the 300 block of Sutherland Place. Officers determined that it was verbal only, so did not take action.
