At 0700 hours, found property was turned in at the Manitou Springs Police Station.
In the 100 block of Manitou Avenue, MSPD officers located a man wanted on 13 warrants, including felonies, in El Paso County. He was arrested and transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center; he also was in possession of a stolen vehicle.
Aug. 16
Officers stopped a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of El Paso Boulevard. They observed drug paraphernalia inside it and detained the driver. While searching the vehicle, the officers located a felony quantity of amphetamines and booked the driver into CJC.
At 0833 hours, MSPD contacted a transient person trespassing in the 3100 block of West Colorado Avenue and took the suspect into custody for a local misdemeanor warrant.
A man approached officers patrolling the 3100 block of West Colorado Avenue and was arrested for interfering with them.
People talking about and using illicit narcotics were reported in the 500 block of El Paso Boulevard. One caller also mentioned a possible firearm. The suspects were located in a nearby park and were observed using methamphetamine. They were identified, cited and released. No firearm was located.
Aug. 17
MSPD determined that a suspect had provided false information to multiple officers during contacts regarding criminal matters in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue.
Officers took a case report about a cold criminal trespass (auto) in the 300 block of Beckers Lane. No suspect information is available.
At 1455 hours, MSPD contacted a person illegally camping in Soda Springs Park, 1000 block of Manitou Avenue. The suspect was found to have an out-of-county felony warrant; she was taken into custody and booked into CJC.
An assault in progress on Park Avenue was reported, and officers found two men fighting. After investigating, they arrested one for assault and property damage.
Officers stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was cited for DUI.
Aug. 18
MSPD received reports of a burglary at the city’s Water Treatment Plant. Officers investigated the incident and cleared it.
Aug. 19
At 1933 hours, someone turned in a cell phone found in the 600 block of Ruxton Avenue. It has been placed in safekeeping.
Officers were dispatched to a motel in the 00 block of Manitou Avenue at 2350 hours; a possible domestic violence incident had been reported. After speaking to witnesses, the officers determined that it was a verbal argument only.
Aug. 20
Manitou officers responded to a traffic accident with injury at westbound U.S. Highway 24 and Cliff Road. When they arrived on scene, they investigated and took a report.
