June 5
Manitou Springs Police officers contacted a homeless woman sleeping in the 500 block of El Paso Boulevard. They spoke to her and learned she had multiple felony warrants, arrested her and transported her to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
MSPD contacted transients trespassing on the Midland Trail and under the bridge at 31st Street and U.S. Highway 24. The officers educated them on trespassing laws and provided resource information, but also cited them for possessing methamphetamine.
A traffic accident with vehicle damage occurred near the intersection of Highway 24 and Cliff Road.
In the 3000 block of West Colorado Avenue, MSPD located a man with a local misdemeanor warrant. He was issued a personal recognizance bond and released.
During a traffic stop in the 3100 block of West Colorado Avenue, officers found the driver had a revoked license and no current proof of insurance. They also located drug paraphernalia in her possession and, after roadside testing, came to believe she was under the influence of drugs. A chemical sample was collected, and she was cited and released.
June 6
MSPD responded to a cold report of an assault in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue. The suspect threw a dime at the victim while she was pumping gas and it hit her in the head.
Officers contacted a transient man walking on the side of westbound Highway 24 at mile marker 295. He was issued a personal recognizance bond for a misdemeanor warrant from Aurora.
June 7
At 2003 hours, MSPD stopped a vehicle near 33rd and West Kiowa streets and arrested the driver for being under the influence of alcohol.
June 9
At 0307 hours, officers stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Beckers Lane; the passenger had a local misdemeanor warrant and was arrested.
MSPD responded to a traffic accident with injuries near Highway 24 and Cave of the Winds Road; the at-fault driver was cited for reckless driving.
June 10
At 0340 hours, officers stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue. One occupant was arrested on a local misdemeanor warrant.
MSPD stopped a speeding vehicle near Manitou Avenue and westbound Highway 24; the driver was arrested for being under the influence of drugs.
At 2046 hours, officers stopped a vehicle near Crystal Valley Road, and it was impounded due to multiple traffic offenses.
June 11
MSPD responded to check-the-welfare request in the 100 block of El Paso Boulevard. A driver was charged with being under the influence of drugs, child abuse and drug-related charges. He also was arrested on a local misdemeanor warrant.
Officers responded to a disturbance in the 3400 block of West Colorado Avenue. A man was arrested on scene and cited with assault, menacing and criminal mischief.
