A juvenile was involved in a marijuana possession case in the 400 block of El Monte Place.
The Manitou Crisis Response team responded to a check-the-welfare request for a suicidal person in the 100 block of Pawnee Avenue. After an investigation, a juvenile was placed on a mental health hold and transported to a hospital for evaluation.
JAN. 31
Manitou Springs Police officers stopped a speeding vehicle in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver, a 33-year-old Colorado Springs man, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Officers responded to the 900 block of Manitou Avenue, where a business had been broken into. Several items were missing; the investigation is ongoing.

FEB. 1
Officers stopped a vehicle near Beckers Lane and Manitou Avenue without an illuminated license plate; the driver was then arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
MSPD assisted the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation into an assault in progress in the U.S. Highway 24/31st Street area.
FEB. 2
Officers stopped a vehicle that ran a red light at 32nd Street and West Colorado Avenue. The driver was cited for being a habitual traffic offender and the vehicle was impounded.
MSPD responded to a report of a man with an injured ankle in the 00 block of Manitou Avenue. It was unclear how he was injured. While on scene, the officers learned that the man had a misdemeanor warrant. He was transported to a hospital, where he required medical treatment for an unknown length of time. He was advised of his warrant and that MSPD would follow up to ensure he would resolve it.
Officers stopped a car being driven without headlights in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver was then arrested for being under the influence of drugs.
MSPD was called to a disturbance in the 00 block of El Paso Boulevard. The incident is being investigated.
FEB. 4
Officers responded to a traffic accident with injuries, involving a motorcycle and a vehicle, in the 900 block of Manitou Avenue.
A woman left her wallet and cell phone unattended while at a business in the 300 block of Beckers Lane, and an unknown person removed them. The investigation is ongoing.
