UPDATE: Eric Snay, 60, sustained more than 15 stab wounds to his neck, arms and head. He underwent surgery at a local hospital and is expected to survive.

On May 23, Manitou Springs Police officers contacted Million Zimmerman, date of birth May 12, 1999, while he was walking near the 400 block of Ruxton Avenue. Zimmerman fit the description that witnesses gave and was apprehended.

He has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and is being held on $1 million bond.

 

We are working to obtain more information about the May 22 stabbing near the Manitou Incline. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of the investigation.

We do know that Manitou Springs Fire Department personnel reached the Barr Trail parking lot about 7:40 p.m. and began efforts to save the victim. He was in critical condition and was transported to a hospital.

The suspect had fled the scene. EPSO investigators are reviewing camera footage of the attack and interviewing witnesses. The office has not released the suspect’s description, and it’s not clear if the suspect and victim knew each other.
