E-Bikes Tours and Rentals joined the Manitou Springs business community in February 2022.

The company is owned by a father-son duo, Gregory Cobble and Sam Cobble, along with their good friend Caleb Lopez. It’s mostly known for e-bike tours through Manitou Springs and the surrounding area.

“We have a self-guided experience where we train people how to use the bikes and then take them out to Garden of the Gods and then we turn them loose there,” said Lopez.“We also have a guided tour option. In this, we stop periodically to discuss the history, geography and geology of the region.”

They also sell e-bikes.

“In the beginning, after people would go on tours, they would come back and want to know where they could buy one. We were referring people to different places to buy bikes and then we just decided to start selling these bikes along with the rentals,” Lopez said.

They sell a variety of options, so there is a match for everyone looking to purchase one of these bikes.

“We have several different options for our bikes that include Aventon, Yamaha, Himiway and Rad. We also have test rides available for those who are unsure what bike is the right fit for them,” he said.

These e-bikes are a good way for all types of people to stay active, Lopez said, “whether you are a local looking for an easy way to access all the bike trails in the Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs and Woodland Park region, or a person who has trouble with normal bikes, but still want to be active.”

Although many people steer away from these bikes because they are electric, they still offer a good form of exercise.

“There’s a big misconception that you can’t get exercise on an e-bike, but if you turn off the electrical aspect, they are almost more of a workout than normal bikes,” said Lopez.

Although the company officially opened just six months ago, the Cobbles and Lopez already have plans to expand.

“We’re planning on opening a service center in the Colorado Springs area since the e-bike sales are soaring right now,” Lopez said. “With that comes a specialty service that not all bike shops can handle. This is where a specialized technician like us is needed to help repair and maintain these bikes.”

“If you want to cruise through nature and have a small footprint, this is an excellent way to do it,” he said.
