Reading Rocks Young explorers age 2-6 years old and accompanied by an adult are invited to join a new book reading each week with an education specialist and then make a hands-on craft. 9-10 a.m. Fridays. Yoga at the Rocks Class for yoga practitioners from beginners to the more experienced. Goal is for yoga to be accessible, possible and fun for everyone through a combination of Vinyasa and Yin yoga-styles. Please bring your own mat, water bottle, other props you enjoy using for practice and a smile. Meet at the Chuckwagon Pavilion in the Central Garden, off Lot 2. Program may be indoors, depending on weather. Pre-registration required and tickets sold on first-come-first-serve basis. No refunds, however qualified individuals may register for free here. 10:30-11:30 a.m.  every day. Garden of the Gods Guided Nature Walk Daily guided walks, weather permitting, introduce participants to the park. Approximately 1.5-mile walks depart from the Visitor and Nature Center and follow the mostly paved Gateway Trail to the paved Central Garden Trail. Participants are encouraged to continue exploring the Central Garden or may return to the Visitor Center with the guide. The average duration is 45-60 minutes. Tickets are required and cost $5; sold on a first-come, first-served basis. No refunds, but free registration for anyone affected by COVID-19. Go here for tickets. Noon-3 p.m. “John Venezia Retrospective: A Life in Color” Celebrating the life and work of the late artist, marking one year since his death. John was a studio artist at the Manitou Art Center for many years and was very active in Manitou Springs. The exhibit includes pencil, pastels, oils, landscapes, still lives, portraits and fabric. It is a nature experience to explore the Wheel of Life – a universal symbol and a personal tool for growth and discovery that reaches well beyond its indigenous roots to todays’ contemporary world. Through teachings, artistic exploration, counsel, and experiencing nature, you will discover and develop skills within a circle of connection, guided by the cycles of life, as we reach toward wholeness and understanding of our True Nature in these challenging times.
