Give! Nonprofit profile: Happy Cats Haven

What

Happy Cats Haven is a 95% community funded, local, no-kill feline rescue that serves the Pikes Peak region. The mission of Happy Cats is to ensure that each cat and kitten that comes into the shelter has an opportunity to regain their personality and sense of security after experiencing trauma, abandonment and homelessness. With behavior training, socialization, time and love, it is our goal to help abandoned and homeless Colorado cats and kittens find their purrfect forever home.

Why

Eighty percent of all felines born in the US are born outside and struggle to survive on the streets. These homeless cats and kittens often experience cruelty, disease and early deaths without ever feeling the loving touch of a human. When rescues come to Happy Cats Haven, we give them all the time they need to recover, allowing their true personalities to shine through so they may one day have a loving family of their own.

Goals

We hope to increase our lifesaving capacity by cultivating our Feline Fosters Program to provide more safe spaces for abandoned cats and kittens to land. We are also expanding training for our Feline Behavior Program to continue solving issues before they become surrenders, keeping adopted cats at home.

Did you know

Last year, 56% of our adoptions went to loving homes for adult and senior cats. We work just as hard to find perfect families for our at-risk adults as we do our easily adopted kittens!

“We adopted our two 6-month-old kittens at Happy Cats Haven. They emailed over all their records same day as adoption. The process was very simple, we found the kitties we wanted to meet online and put in a free application for them via their website. They helped us complete our family.” — Anonymous adopter in March 2024
