At approximately 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, Michael Austin McIlveene, 28, was arrested after a peaceful resolution to the standoff in the 00 block of Manitou Avenue.
The shelter in place order for the area was lifted shortly after with no major injuries to the suspect, members of the public, or law enforcement officers.
McIlveene was reportedly threatening the public. He was charged with felony menacing and criminal mischief, and was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center. A Michael McIlveene who graduated from Woodland Park High School and lives in Manitou is on social media.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, the Colorado Springs Police Department, and Colorado State Patrol partnered to achieve a successful outcome for this incident.
