Input needed to determine Westside Community Center’s future

The city of Colorado Springs has committed to a public workshop sometime this month to discuss the future of the Westside Community Center, 1628 W. Bijou St.

Contract negotiations fell through between the city and the Woodmen Valley Chapel’s Center for Strategic Ministry, which had been managing the center. The city has attempted to find an operator since August 2020.

Woodmen Valley Chapel will end operations of the community center on May 31, 2022, and the Colorado Springs City Parks Department closed the request for proposals on Friday, March 3, effectively eliminating current services in three months with no plan in place.

The Organization of Westside Neighbors is requesting input to share with the city.

Community members can provide feedback at tiny.cc/WestsideCenter. The survey takes just a few minutes to complete.
