As both a proud graduate of Manitou Springs Schools and the district’s former superintendent, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing our schools from every perspective, as a student, an educator, and a leader. I care deeply about this district, and I know how vital our schools are to the heart of this community.
That’s why I’m urging you to vote YES on the upcoming bond measure.
At the top of the list is something we simply can’t compromise on, the safety and security of our students and staff.
Our world has changed. The threats schools face today are real, and we must be proactive. This bond makes critical investments in keeping our buildings secure and a place that teachers can focus on teaching, students can focus on learning, and parents can have peace of mind knowing their children are protected.
The bond will also improve accessibility across the district. This ensures that every student, regardless of ability, can access safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning spaces.
I have dedicated much of my life to Manitou Springs School District, and I continue to believe in their promise. Voting yes on this bond is about more than buildings; it’s about responsibility, safety, and ensuring that our schools remain places of opportunity, protection, and excellence for years to come.
Please join me in supporting this important measure.
Sincerely,
Gary Miller
Former Superintendent, Manitou Springs School District
Alumnus, Class of 1962
