Give! Nonprofit profile: Home Front Military Network (HFMN)
Home Front Military Network (HFMN) helps service members, veterans and their families navigate the myriad of support services in our community. We connect them to essential resources, including emergency financial assistance provided by HFMN and our partners, to meet the full range of needs of individuals and families, following alongside them every step of the way, helping them stand on their own and thrive.
Why
Service members, veterans and their families have sacrificed so much for us and have unique needs. Many don’t ask for help until they are in crisis. In 2022, 25% of deaths by suicide in El Paso County were veterans. More than 75% of veteran families served by HFMN in 2023 were living below 80% of area median income and struggled to make ends meet. HFMN provides hope and peace of mind to these vulnerable families.
Goals
- Provide direct assistance to 5,000 service members, veterans and families
- Provide $300k in emergency financial assistance to 200+ vulnerable veteran households
- 100% of financial assistance clients will remain stably housed 6 months after HFMN assistance
Did you know
Since 2020, HFMN’s call volume has quadrupled, and we’ve provided more than $1 million in financial assistance, keeping 800+ households from becoming homeless or without other basic needs.
