Parratt leads golfers to fourth place at Trinidad

Windy weather made for some tough conditions on April 5, but the Manitou Springs girls golf team made the best of it at the Trinidad Invite.

The Mustangs finished fourth as a team and were the top Tri-Peaks team in the field. They finished ahead of La Junta, Salida and Rye.

Junior Tyler Parratt shot the best score of the day, finishing with a 31-over-par 103. That was good for a fifth-place finish on the leaderboard. Her lone par of the day came on the No. 2 handicap hole, the par-4 11th.

She made triple bogey or worse on just two holes and knows that if she can keep from letting anything getting out of hand, her score should creep down into double digits.

Freshman Madison Sharon had an admirable day as she shot 108 to give the Mustangs two players finishing in the top 10. She made one par on the day as well, which came on the par-5 15th.

Anna Apotheker and Liz Johnson rounded out Manitou’s day by shooting 121 and 131, respectively.

The Mustangs are back in action Wednesday, April 13, when they head to Hollydot for the season’s first Tri-Peaks tournament.
