The May 3 trip to La Junta was productive as the Manitou Springs girls golf team again finished second in a Tri-Peaks League tournament.

It’s the second time that the team has finished second at a league tournament, which is an indication that the team as a whole is developing this season. Tyler Parratt led the Mustangs with a 26-over-par 96, which was good enough for a third-place finish.

Madison Sharon also broke the 100 mark as she shot 98 to finish fifth as an individual player. This was her best performance to date and is coming at the right time with another league tournament still on the schedule and regionals not too far off.

The Mustangs head to the Trinidad golf course for the final league tournament of the year on Tuesday, May 10.
