SEPTEMBER 10
Officers responded to a suicide call for service that occurred in the 000 block of Manitou Ave. One party was pronounced deceased on scene. The incident is under further investigation.
SEPTEMBER 12
Officers stopped a car after it nearly hit a pole. The driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.
The Manitou Springs Police Department took a report of a motor vehicle theft. The suspect is in a relationship with the victim and left in the victim’s vehicle after an argument. The vehicle was entered into the national database as stolen.
Officers responded to four calls for service in the morning hours all relating to the same individual. This individual has a history of calling police and reporting things that he sees that are not actually there. On the fourth call for service this individual attempted to gain entry into a neighbor’s house because he believed it to be someone he knew. This individual was placed on an M1 hold by our Crisis Response Team clinician.
The Manitou Springs Police Department were contacted regarding a case of possible child abuse. The report came from a local hospital and an investigation was opened.
Officers are investigating a report of possible vehicle theft and criminal mischief in the area of Navajo Road and Manitou Avenue.
SEPTEMBER 13
Officers were approached by a subject reporting his wife may be trying to hurt herself. Officers investigated and found the wife was unharmed and no crime had been committed.
A male party found a suspicious bag with a powdery substance inside and presumed it to be an illegal substance. The male party turned the bag into the Manitou Springs Police Department as found property. The bag was entered as found property and will be destroyed.
Officers got reports of a missing person. That person has not been seen or heard from for several days. That person was entered as missing with dispatch.
SEPTEMBER 14
Officers responded to a cold theft that occurred over an 8-hour time frame. Reporting party is reporting a hitch bike rack was stolen from their vehicle which was parked on the street. No suspect info or video available. The serial number was obtained and entered as stolen.
SEPTEMBER 15
MSPD officers contacted a woman suspected of stealing street signs and trespassing. She was later arrested after assaulting an officer.
