Nov. 15
Manitou Springs Police officers responded at 0853 hours to a cold burglary in the 100 block of Higginbotham Road. Items were stolen from a storage container.
A resident of the 300 block of Spring Street reported that someone was trespassing. Officers contacted a transient man, who was found to have multiple local felony warrants. He was transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
At 2340 hours, MSPD contacted people in the 600 block of Manitou Avenue after a disturbance was reported. Through further investigation, officers determined that an assault had occurred, but the victim didn’t want to pursue charges. Suspect information was provided, but no arrest was made.
Nov. 16
MSPD officers stopped a vehicle in the 00 block of Manitou Avenue at 1053 hours. The driver was cited for multiple criminal traffic offenses.
Unidentified items were found in the MSPD evidence room during renovations.
Officers responded to a theft report in the 00 block of Minnehaha Avenue. The reporting person alleged rocks belonging to him were stolen from a city drainage ditch. The MSPD did not find any probable cause that a crime had been committed.
A man was reported to be breaking windows in his house, in the 1000 block of Manitou Avenue, and throwing items into the street. Officers were able to talk him out of the house and he was placed on a mental health hold in the El Paso County Behavioral Health Unit.
Nov. 17
MSPD contacted two people in a vehicle parked on private property in the 900 block of Osage Avenue. While identifying them, officers discovered that one man had four felony warrants, including for heroin possession, and took him into custody. He was booked into CJC. They also observed evidence of criminal activity in the vehicle and searched it. Ultimately, it was sealed and transported to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office evidence facility.
Officers responded to a fraud — illegal use of credit cards — reported in the 200 block of Elk Path.
A juvenile was involved in a controlled-substance incident in the 400 block of El Monte Place.
MSPD stopped a vehicle with fictitious plates in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue.
Nov. 18
MSPD assisted another agency with an incident involving a juvenile in the 9600 block of Rubicon Drive, Colorado Springs.
At 0338 hours, officers stopped a vehicle with fictitious plates at Columbia Road and El Paso Boulevard. After investigating, they issued a summons and seized a small amount of drugs and paraphernalia to be destroyed.
MSPD responded to a cold motorcycle theft in the 00 block of Manitou Avenue.
At 1800 hours, a woman reported that an unknown person had taken her phone from her vehicle in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue. The phone has not been located and the investigation continues.
During a traffic stop at U.S. Highway 24 and 31st Street, officers began to suspect a person was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. After roadside testing, the suspect was arrested and a chemical sample collected.
Nov. 19
At 0300 hours, someone reported a suspect ripping open packages and taking the contents in the 00 block of Ruxton Avenue. The suspect fled in an unknown direction, but was later located along with the stolen items.
Nov. 20
At 2000 hours, officers discovered graffiti in a bathroom stall in the 1000 block of Manitou Avenue. It was reported to Public Works.
An abandoned vehicle was towed from the area of Beckers Lane and El Paso Boulevard at 2145 hours.
Officers contacted the driver of a vehicle with fictitious plates near Robinson and 27th streets at 2237 hours. After an investigation, a male occupant of the vehicle was issued a summons and released.
A vehicle break-in was reported in the 300 block of Beckers Lane. No items were stolen, but the vehicle was damaged. The victims were provided a case report for insurance purposes.

COURT UPDATE
According to the Colorado Judicial Branch’s online docket, Landon Johnston, who is accused of vandalizing Crystal Valley Cemetery in May, is due to be arraigned Thursday, Dec. 2.
Freddie Crespo is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on Friday, Dec. 3, in the May 2019 death of Jimmie Baker in downtown Manitou Springs.
Ashlynne Perez, charged with criminally negligent child abuse resulting in death, is due in court Thursday, Dec. 9, for a review hearing and Tuesday, Dec. 21, for a pre-trial conference.
Her husband, Carlos Perez, is due in court Tuesday, Dec. 21, for a pre-trial conference. Their 4-year-old son accidentally shot himself in the head July 6 outside a Manitou business.
Pawel Jakubczyk is due in court for a hearing on Friday, Dec. 17. He was the owner/operator of PJ’s Stagecoach Inn, 702 Manitou Ave., now known as Manitou Eatery.
Jacob Carley, the Manitou police officer accused of sending revenge porn, is scheduled for a disposition hearing on Friday, Jan. 14.
