Manitou Springs Police officers took a report of a missing person with the last known address in Manitou Springs.

A store in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue turned in a counterfeit $20 bill; it’s being investigated.

Dec. 1

MSPD responded to a traffic accident with vehicle damage on eastbound U.S. Highway 24. Initially, the driver complained of injuries but, after the scene had de-escalated, the complaints subsided. The driver was able to arrange a ride from the scene.

Officers and Manitou Springs Fire Department personnel responded to a single-vehicle traffic accident with injuries in the 300 block of Cañon Avenue. They arrived quickly, and the injured passenger was treated and transported to a local hospital. After an investigation, the driver was cited for private property damage and released. The vehicle was impounded due to its damage.

Dec. 3

MSPD responded to a “check the welfare” call in the 600 block of Crystal Park Road. A suspect attempted to strike officers and a fight ensued. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.

Dec. 4

Officers responded to a sexual assault reported in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue. Two people were interviewed and a case report was taken.

Dec. 5

At 2204 hours, MSPD attempted to stop a vehicle that had recently left a high-crime address in the 200 block of Beckers Lane. The driver did not stop and the pursuit was terminated. After an investigation, officers identified the driver and an arrest warrant on felony charges is being sought.
