SEPTEMBER 22
Officers responded to a hit and run traffic accident that occurred in the 00 block of Ruxton Avenue. No injuries were reported.
SEPTEMBER 23
MSPD officers responded to a traffic accident where an RV severely damaged the open door of a parked vehicle as the owner was unloading her child in the 600 block of Manitou Avenue. No injuries.
SEPTEMBER 24
MSPD officers assisted Aurora PD and the FBI in locating a suspect wanted on charges of sex assault on a child and animal cruelty. The suspect was located and booked into CJC by MSPD officers.
Officers responded to a traffic accident involving a parked vehicle that occurred in the 900 block of Manitou Ave. No injuries were reported.
SEPTEMBER 25
MSPD Officers on patrol checks located two transient parties under the bridge in the 700 block of Manitou Avenue. Both parties were cleared and returned with valid arrest warrants out of EPSO. Both parties were taken into custody and lodged at CJC.
School staff reported a suspicious vehicle in the area. Officer found and contacted the driver. Nothing criminal.
SEPTEMBER 26
MSPD was dispatched to Crystal Park Road for reports of theft of utilities. Manitou Springs Public Works and removed a water meter for the past due water bill; the party had installed a pipe to take water without payment. An arrest warrant was drafted for the party.
SEPTEMBER 27
Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and swerving. The driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.
Officers responded to a check the welfare of a female in the downtown area. After running the female officers learned she had a warrant. She was transported to CJC without incident.
An iPhone was found and given to officers at the Manitou Springs Police Department.
Officers contacted a car for reckless driving. The driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.
SEPTEMBER 28
Officers attempted to stop a white BMW 7 series for careless driving. The vehicle fled the area at high rates of speed. An investigation is ongoing.
Officers responded to a two-vehicle traffic accident in the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue. One vehicle hit another while pulling out of a spot, causing damage. Insurance exchange was completed, and drivers were able to drive their vehicles away.
SEPTEMBER 29
Officers contacted a male sleeping in his running car in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and possession of illicit drugs.
SEPTEMBER 30
Officers responded to a traffic accident on Highway 24 at Cave of the Winds Road. There were no injuries. A crash report was taken to document the collision.
MSPD was made aware of various graffiti around the city with similar style and signature. A media release was issued, requesting anyone with information call the MSPD
