MAY 20
Officers responded to a cold hit-and-run traffic accident in the 600 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver was identified, and insurance information was exchanged. No charges were filed.
MAY 22
MSPD officers conducted a patrol check near the intersection of W. Highway 24 and Ridge Road, locating illegal homeless camps. One transient was contacted and issued a summons.
Officers responded to an indecent exposure call in the 900 block of Manitou Avenue involving a party who exposed their genitals in front of several people, including children. Officers located and arrested the party and booked them into jail on felony charges.
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver was found to have an outstanding felony warrant. He was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail without incident.
MAY 23
Officers initiated contact with a vehicle parked in the 3100 block of W. Colorado Avenue. The driver of the vehicle admitted to having drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and officers recovered drug paraphernalia to be destroyed.
MAY 24
Officers discovered a vehicle with fictitious plates attached to it. Officers contacted and arrested the suspect, citing them for camping and possession of fictitious plates. The suspect was taken into custody and held at CJC on unrelated warrants.
During a suspicious vehicle investigation, officers contacted a party who was discovered to have a warrant for their arrest. Officers arrested, transported and booked the party into CJC.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop with a motorcycle with an obstructed and expired license plate. The operator of the motorcycle fled from the officer and began driving recklessly to elude the officer. MSPD is familiar with the suspect and will be issuing a warrant for his arrest.
MAY 25
MSPD responded to a report of a three-vehicle crash at the eastbound on-ramp to Highway 24 from Manitou Avenue. Officers arrived on the scene. There were no injuries. The scene was investigated and a driver of one vehicle was issued a summons. All three vehicles were able to drive away from the scene.
Officers responded to a report of a possible disturbance. A 35-year-old Manitou Springs male was arrested for an outstanding felony arrest warrant.
Officers responded to a domestic violence call for service in Beckers district. Officers investigated and developed probable cause to arrest both involved parties. Both parties were arrested without incident.
Officers observed a gray Toyota Camry traveling west near the 600 block of Manitou Avenue at approximately 30 mph in a 20 mph zone with a defective tail light. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block and found the driver to be driving under the influence of drugs.
