MAY 27

A visitor to the area reported that credit cards were taken from their vehicle. A suspect allegedly attempted to use one at a retail store in Colorado Springs. An investigation by the Manitou Springs Police Department is ongoing.

 

MAY 28

Officers responded to a report of a dispute in the 600 block of Manitou Avenue. After investigating the incident the report was found to be unfounded.

The Manitou Crisis Response Team responded to a report of harassment in the 900 block of Manitou Avenue involving a man who walked into a local restaurant and took his pants off. MCR located the party, and ultimately determined he was experiencing a mental health crisis. The party was placed on a mental health hold, and was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

An unknown subject or subjects placed or disposed of firearm shell casings in 100 block of Mesa Avenue.

 

MAY 29

Officers are investigating a report of a “dine and dash” at an establishment in the 700 block of Manitou Avenue. Two unknown subjects allegedly fled the establishment without paying for their food.

 

MAY 30

Officers responded to an alleged domestic violence incident. One party was arrested and taken to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center. 

 

MAY 31

Officers conducted a patrol check at the intersection of Ridge Road and West Colorado Avenue. There was a female party camping under the bridge who had a warrant out of El Paso County. She was transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center and booked on the warrant.

Officers were called to the skate park in the 100 block of El Paso Boulevard where a reporting party said three teenage boys had climbed on the bathroom roof and potentially broke the door while doing so. The door will not shut properly, and all three boys were identified. Contact info was obtained from everyone involved and the MSPD will follow up with the city to see if there will be a cost to repair the door.

 

JUNE 1

An officer stopped a vehicle for swerving on Highway 24. The driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.

 

JUNE 2

Officers responded to a disturbance in the 00 block of El Paso Boulevard that they determined to be a civil argument. While conducting the investigation, the officers were made aware that an involved party had an unrelated misdemeanor warrant for their arrest. That party was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center without incident.
