MSPD officers responded to a report of a sexual assault on a child by a family member. Investigation ongoing.
JANUARY 22
MSPD Officers stopped a vehicle due to the license plate being stolen. Investigation confirmed the plate as stolen and the vehicle had no insurance. The owner was summonsed and released, and the vehicle was towed.
JANUARY 23
Manitou Springs police officers responded to a domestic violence just-occurred call for service in the 000 block of Manitou Avenue. After investigating, officers were unable to determine if domestic violence had occurred on the scene.
JANUARY 24
Officers stopped a vehicle for driving with no lights in the 1000 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.
Officers responded to a traffic accident that occurred on the Highway 24 westbound lane. Officers took both parties statements and documented the accident.
Officers responded to a menacing call-for-service in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue for a menacing that occurred on Highway 24. Officers were able to contact both parties of the situation.
Officers responded to a two-vehicle non-injury traffic accident near Manitou Avenue and El Monte Place. The at-fault party was cited for following too closesly.
Officers responded to a domestic violence incident on Chipeta Road. Following investigation, a female party was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on domestic violence charges.
Officers responded to the 600 block Manitou Avenue for a reported Domestic Violence call. The resulting investigation led to the arrest of one party on felony domestic violence charges.
Officers located a suspect involved in a possible attempted burglary on High Street and Pawnee Avenue. Although it was determined to be a mistake, officers also determined the suspect was potentially driving under the influence of drugs and arrested him for a DUI.
Officers responded to a report of a disturbance on Park Avenue. Probable cause was found to issue a warrant for arrest of a male.
JANUARY 27
MSPD officers responded to a report of a harassment (cold) on Via San Miguel. Suspect will be served with summons at a later date.
Officer took a report of a hit and run accident on Spencer Avenue, no injuries.
Officers made contact with a subject shoplifting from a local gas station; the subject had a felony warrant out of El Paso County. Subject was taken to CJC per warrant.
