FEBRUARY 4

MSPD officers conducted a traffic stop. Occupants of the vehicle were providing fictitious identification and officers believed they were likely illegal immigrants. The driver was cited for a “multitude” of traffic violations and the vehicle was towed away. The case status is “cleared adult arrest.” [The Bulletin has requested more information about this report and will publish the MSPD’s response in our Feb. 21 edition. — ed.]

MSPD officers responded to a hit and run incident near the Manitou Library. 

An unknown female subject unlawfully removed items from a business in the 700 block of Manitou Avenue. An investigation is ongoing.


FEBRUARY 5

Officers responded to a two-vehicle traffic accident near Manitou Place and Osage Avenue. The accident was investigated on scene and no charges were issued. 

An unknown male subject unlawfully removed items from a business in the 700 block of Manitou Avenue. An investigation is ongoing.

An unknown subject made physical threats toward multiple subjects in the 900 block of Manitou Avenue. An investigation is ongoing.


FEBRUARY 6

Officers were aware of several individuals who had warrants. Officers recognized a suspect vehicle in the 000 block of Manitou Avenue. Officers positively identified the occupants of the vehicle and knew two of those occupants had warrants. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Officers contacted a vehicle in a parking lot in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue after hearing a party vomiting. After determining the passenger did not need medical attention, officers arrested the driver for DUI.

Officers contacted a party that was smoking marijuana in public. The party was served and released for consuming marijuana in public.

While securing restrooms in the 1000 block of Manitou Avenue, an officer made contact with an individual with warrants and in possession of meth. The subject was arrested. 


FEBRUARY 7

Officers responded to 410 Canon Avenue to a report of domestic violence in progress. After investigation, a female party was arrested.

Officers received found property from Fire Fighters of the Manitou Springs Fire Department. Officers placed the property in found property.

Officers responded to a motel on Manitou Avenue for a party acting erratic. Unit contacted a female party and through an investigation found her to be in possession of a controlled substance. Female was also trespassed from the property.


FEBRUARY 8

Officers conducted an agency assist with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office near Highway 24 and 31st street. Through the investigation a female party was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. That female party was summonsed and release.

Officers assisted the City of Manitou Springs Parking attendants in towing an abandoned vehicle. The abandoned vehicle was towed from the parking lot on Prospect Place.


FEBRUARY 9

MSPD observed a vehicle traveling 52 mph in a posted 30 mph zone in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue. A DUI investigation was conducted resulting in the driver being placed into custody.

While in the 200 block of Manitou Ave, officers conducted a traffic stop that led to the arrest of one suspect wanted on several misdemeanor warrants.

Officers contacted a vehicle near 31st and Robinson and found the driver had an outstanding El Paso County arrest warrant.

Officers attempted to contact a vehicle near S. 31st and Robinson Street. The vehicle left the area and was located a short distance away. The driver was found to be DUI and had an outstanding arrest warrant.


FEBRUARY 10 

Officers stopped a vehicle near 200 Manitou Avenue for speeding. During the investigation, probable cause was found to arrest the driver for DUI.

Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 3700 block of Red Canon Place with a vehicle driving without lights. The driver, a 43-year-old Colorado Springs man was found to be DUI and placed under arrest.
