AUGUST 14
The Manitou Springs Police Department contacted a male party for trespassing in the 800 block of Manitou Avenue. The male party was identified and found to have an active warrant for his arrest. The male party was taken into custody. While searching the male party’s belongings, officers found the male party was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Prior to booking into CJC the male party was issued a citation.
MSPD Officers attempted to locate a male party who had made numerous repeated threats of violence towards various officers and City employees. The party was located and taken into custody without incident. He was booked into jail on multiple felony charges.
Officers stopped a vehicle for an unreadable license plate in the 00 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver was subsequently arrested for DUI. Officers also located illicit drugs in the vehicle.
AUGUST 15
Officers contacted the suspected driver from a traffic complaint in the 600 block of Crystal Park Road. The driver was found to have warrants. While placing him in custody, he fought with officers. After being placed in custody he was taken to the hospital then to CJC on new charges and his warrants.
AUGUST 16
Officers responded to a vehicle vs fence incident. The vehicle was unoccupied when it crashed into a neighboring fence causing damage to the fence. The vehicle was not damaged but was not movable. The vehicle’s clutch would not work, and the vehicle was towed out of the property.
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 block of W. Colorado Avenue and located a second vehicle being operated by a subject under the influence of drugs. A Colorado Springs woman was taken into custody for DUI.
Officers stopped a vehicle for swerving in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.
AUGUST 17
Officers conducted a traffic stop near 29th and W. Colorado Avenue regarding expired registration and located a returned license plate. The license plate was checked into found property.
AUGUST 18
Officers stopped a vehicle for expired license plates in the 3000 block of W. Colorado Avenue. During the investigation, the driver was discovered to be operating the vehicle while impaired. Officers arrested a Colorado Springs woman for DUI and other charges.
AUGUST 19
MSPD officers responded to a report of a traffic accident with vehicle damage that had occurred near mile marker 299 on W. Highway 24.
