MARCH 25
The Manitou Crisis Response team responded to a check-the-welfare on South Path. An elderly male was determined to need emergency medical assistance inside, so the Manitou Springs Fire Department forced entry into the residence. The male party was eventually transported to the hospital voluntarily. A case report was taken to document the incident and the forced entry.
Officers took a report of a possible violation of a protection order on Via San Miguel. An investigation is ongoing.
Officers responded to a stabbing and shots fired located near the intersection of Oklahoma Road and Deer Path Avenue. The victim and suspect were located and transported to local hospitals for treatment. The suspect is in custody and an MSPD detective is actively investigating.
MARCH 26
A male was issued a summons for criminal mischief in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue.
A male was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue.
An unknown vehicle struck a parked car and left without reporting the incident in the 700 block of Manitou Avenue. An investigation is ongoing.
MARCH 27
A male was arrested for suspicion of DUI on W. Colorado Avenue and Golden Lane.
MSPD was called to a business in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue for possible drugs found outside and possible trespassing. Officers arrived and located a small amount of an unknown white powder. It was unknown who left the substance or when the substance was left. It was collected for processing. The business had asked two vehicles to leave. Both vehicles left the property without intervention.
MSPD conducted a traffic stop starting in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue. The vehicle stopped on Highway 24 eastbound. The driver was driving under suspension and a second occupant had an El Paso County Warrant. The driver was given a summons and the other occupant was booked into El Paso County CJC.
The Manitou Crisis Response team (MCR) assisted the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office with a suicidal check-the-welfare at a juvenile treatment facility in Cascade, Colo. A juvenile female was making suicidal statements and holding a bladed instrument to her neck. MCR and EPSO
Deputies were able to de-escalate and disarm the party, then restrained her. Staff at the facility placed the juvenile female on a mental health hold. American Medical Response personnel responded and transported the subject to the hospital via ambulance.
MARCH 28
A stolen vehicle was towed on the 100 block of Manitou Avenue.
A yellow ring was turned in to the police department.
Officers responded to the reports of graffiti in a water runoff canal. The reporting party stated the graffiti was reported by a concerned citizen.
A woman reported a purse and money stolen in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue.
MARCH 29
A male was arrested for suspected DUI on Beckers Lane and Manitou Avenue.
Officers performed a traffic stop on a vehicle and developed probable cause to search the vehicle. The driver was arrested on DUID and when the passenger was searched, officers found misdemeanor amounts of methamphetamine. The passenger was served and released at the PD.
MSPD officers, while on a foot patrol in the 000 block of Manitou Avenue, located an individual asleep under a bridge. The individual was identified and had an El Paso County warrant. He was placed in custody and taken to El Paso County CJC. During a search, drugs and drug paraphernalia were found.
Officers took control of found property from a gas station employee in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue. Officers attempted to contact the owners and placed the found property into safekeeping.
Officers responded to a traffic accident with unknown injuries that occurred in the downtown area of Manitou Springs. Officers secured the scene and assisted the Fire Department in treating an injured party. Officers contacted the responsible party and cited them for careless driving.
MARCH 30
Officers responded to a disturbance. Several involved parties alleged a theft, while the other alleged harassment. The alleged theft occurred in CSPD jurisdiction, and those parties were referred to CSPD. One involved party had a warrant and was transported to CJC.
Officers responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue. One involved party had a misdemeanor warrant and was transported and booked into CJC without incident.
A woman was issued a summons for possession of controlled substances.
An unknown subject unlawfully removed items from a store in the 700 block of Manitou Avenue without paying. An investigation is ongoing.
MARCH 31
Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 24. The driver was found to be operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody.
Officers assisted the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department with a DUI investigation near Crystal Park Road and Manitou Avenue.
Officers discovered graffiti damage near Garden Drive and El Paso Boulevard. An investigation into the damage is ongoing.
