Earlier this year, the city launched a Pool Feasibility Study process to evaluate the Pool & Fitness Center’s long-term plan in the community. Part of this process is to evaluate the facility’s equipment and the upgrades needed to meet recreation center standards.
The study also includes a market analysis and will incorporate public input through stakeholder meetings, general public meetings and an online survey that recently closed.
Once completed, the consultants will make recommendations on the ideal facility for Manitou Springs and incremental improvements so the Pool & Fitness Center can remain an asset to the community for many years to come.
All amenities are open to the public after major maintenance during the past several months. They are: the lap pool, indoor hot tub, outdoor adult spa, kiddie pool area and fitness gym.
The next block of swim lessons is now open for registration. This six-week block will run on Saturdays from June 18-July 30, except July 2.
Each six-week block is $120 with a $20 discount for each additional kiddo in the same household. Ages 2-5 have class from 10-10:30 a.m. and ages 6-10 have class from 11-11:30 a.m. Information: secure.rec1.com/CO/manitou-springs-co-/catalog.
The pool is hiring lifeguards; visit www.manitouspringsgov.com/173/_Human-Resources to apply. American Red Cross lifeguarding certification is provided for free.
Due to staffing shortages felt around the country, the Pool & Fitness Center has limited summer hours. Check the website for updated hours and facility information.
