‘We remember’: Honoring the departed on the Longest Night

ByPikes Peak Bulletin

Dec 26, 2024

The Longest Night vigil was held in historic Evergreen Cemetary on the evening of Dec. 21 remembering the 101 people who died unhoused in the last year. The crowd that attended was roughly 100 as well, and as each name of the departed was read aloud from the Book of the Dead, the crowd responded, “We remember.” Attendees lit candles in honor of the dead.
