The Manitou Springs Fire Department held the annual 9/11 Memorial Incline Climb in honor and recognition of those who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11. Open to anyone, the fire department particularly encouraged firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, law enforcement officers, military members and other first responders to attend.

During the Memorial Incline Climb, organizers shared words of remembrance before the hike began at 8 a.m. The group paused for moments of silence marking when the first plane hit the North Tower, when the second plane hit the South Tower, when Flight 77 hit the Pentagon, when the South Tower collapsed, when Flight 93 crashed in a, and when the North Tower collapsed.
