Embracing a vision of a cleaner, more sustainable future, the city of Manitou Springs proudly introduces its E-Bike Voucher Program.

This innovative initiative is set to transform the cityscape by encouraging residents to adopt electric bicycles, providing not just an eco-friendly alternative, but also an exciting opportunity to be part of the green movement in hopes that more people will replace car trips with active transportation.

The program is offering 100 vouchers in total, with 70 of the vouchers earmarked for low-income residents.

The amounts:

● $700 vouchers for 70 low-income residents; and

● $500 vouchers for 30 moderate-income residents.

Applicants must be 16 or older and must have maintained a physical Manitou Springs address for at least one year.

Whether you’re a daily commuter, a weekend adventurer, or someone with cargo-carrying needs, the rebate program covers a variety of e-bike styles. From Class 1, 2 and 3 e-bikes to the versatile e-cargo bikes designed for additional passengers or heavier loads, the program caters to diverse preferences.

The program went live Jan. 3, and residents can find the link to apply for the voucher program at bit.ly/MSEBikes. Qualifying applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, so applicants are encouraged to organize documents and view the application as soon as possible.

E-bikes are available for purchase in Manitou Springs.

“More walkable and bikeable cities enhance a community’s quality of life, stimulate the local econom, and help the environment; which means fewer car trips,” said Joan Stang, Pedestrian and Cycle Manitou Springs volunteer who was instrumental in assisting the city to launch the program.

“What excites me most about this program is that Manitou has an opportunity to help families in need. An e-bike could mean the difference between helping someone with mobility challenges, holding a job, or not needing a second car to shuttle kids to school or run errands.

“I’m excited to see the positive impacts this initiative will have in our community and applaud City Council for getting this over the finish line!”
