After an extensive national call for entries, Creative Alliance Manitou Springs announces finalists for the Beckers Lane Bridge art installation and the Spirit of Manitou Springs sculpture projects.

The Beckers Lane Bridge call received 18 entries and the Spirit of Manitou Springs call received 60 entries. Each project’s expert jury scored proposals for durability, technical viability, artistic excellence and fit for the project site.

On Beckers Lane Bridge, the finalist is California-based artist Javier Rocabado, who specializes in urban beautification and public art projects.

The four finalists in the Spirit of Manitou Springs Sculpture project — Aime Jacobsen, Bobby Zokaites, Tom Benedict and Joe Norman — will each create a maquette (or model) of their proposed work for the jurors to review, alongside a digital presentation to explore installation requirements and weather durability.
