Nov. 8

A minor was involved in a marijuana possession case.

A business in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue reported that an employee stole something. The investigation continues.

In the 00 block of El Paso Boulevard, Manitou Springs Police officers contacted a woman involved in a previous incident who was known to have a local misdemeanor warrant for assault. She was transported to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.

A juvenile was transported to a hospital for a mental health issue.

At 1424 hours in the 300 block of Ruxton Avenue, officers attempted to contact a person wanted for a felony, but the suspect fled.

MSPD responded to the report of a runaway in the 100 block of Cave Avenue at 1700 hours. The juvenile returned home safely.

Nov. 10

Officers attempted to arrest a man with a felony warrant in the 400 block of Manitou Avenue. He fled on an electric one-wheel skateboard and has not been apprehended; additional charges will be issued.

Nov. 11

A juvenile was involved in an assault in the 400 block of El Monte Place.

An item found in the 100 block of Pawnee Avenue was turned in to the MSPD.

At 2030 hours in the 3400 block of Colorado Avenue, Manitou officers located a person with El Paso County misdemeanor warrants. The suspect was provided a personal recognizance bond and released.

MSPD contacted a woman in the 400 block of El Paso Boulevard at 2130 hours. She had called 911 and told officers she had been raped. She then refused to report anything when officers attempted to speak with her.

Nov. 12

Officers recovered stolen license plates in the 00 block of Manitou Avenue while on an unrelated call for service.

Nov. 13

Officers responded to a check-the-welfare request in the 900 block of Manitou Avenue at 0145 hours. They contacted a man who said he was not feeling suicidal — he and his daughter had miscommunicated over the phone.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue. MSPD discovered it had fictitious license plates.

Nov. 14

At 0355 hours, MSPD officers contacted a man near the intersection of 31st and Robinson streets. The suspect had five El Paso County misdemeanor warrants and was taken to the CJC.

COURT UPDATE

Pawel Jakubczyk is due in El Paso County Court for hearings on Friday, Nov. 19, and Friday, Dec. 17, according to the Colorado Judicial Branch’s online docket. He was the owner/operator of PJ’s Stagecoach Inn, 702 Manitou Ave., now known as Manitou Eatery.

Landon Johnston, who is accused of vandalizing Crystal Valley Cemetery in May, is due to be arraigned Thursday, Dec. 2.

Freddie Crespo is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on Friday, Dec. 3, in the May 2019 death of Jimmie Baker in downtown Manitou Springs.

Ashlynne Perez, charged with criminally negligent child abuse resulting in death, is due in court Thursday, Dec. 9, for a review hearing and Tuesday, Dec. 21, for a pre-trial conference.

Her husband, Carlos Perez, is due in court Tuesday, Nov. 30, as his trial begins. Their 4-year-old son accidentally shot himself in the head July 6 outside a Manitou business.

Jacob Carley, the Manitou police officer accused of sending revenge porn, is scheduled to appear in court for a disposition hearing on Friday, Jan. 14.
