Rock and erosion removal project will close portion of bypass

With the recent heavy rains, rocks and dirt have built up along Sunshine Trail (also known as the Washington Bypass). The Manitou Springs Public Works department will remove and mitigate the rocks and erosion 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, May 30.

During this time, no traffic will be permitted to travel uphill on Sunshine Trail from its intersection with Washington Avenue to U.S. Highway 24. Therefore, only vehicles exiting from Highway 24 will use this section of roadway.

Please drive carefully through the area during construction, as crews will be working in the street.
