Manitou Springs Police officers responded to fraud reports in the 100 block of Crystal Park
Road. They investigated and cleared the scene.
At 1836 hours, an abandoned vehicle was towed from the area near U.S. Highway 24 and the
Washington Bypass.
While patrolling in the 3100 block of West Colorado Avenue, officers observed a man with a
local misdemeanor warrant. He was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County
Criminal Justice Center.
At 2305 hours, MSPD stopped a vehicle with expired registration in the 300 block of Manitou
Avenue and learned the driver had a local felony warrant. The suspect was taken into custody
and transported to CJC.
May 2
While patrolling the 3100 block of West Colorado Avenue, officers stopped a vehicle with
fictitious registration. They learned the vehicle was not insured and the driver had a suspended
license and an arrest warrant. The officers also realized the driver was under the influence of
drugs. While being booked into CJC, he attempted to hide methamphetamine under his clothing
and that was added to his charges.
Officers patrolling South 31st Street near Highway 24 encountered a woman with a local
misdemeanor warrant. She was taken into custody and transported to CJC.
May 3
MSPD officers patrolling the 3400 block of West Colorado contacted a man with a local felony
warrant. The officers took him into custody and transported him to CJC.
May 4
At 2208 hours, MSPD stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Crystal Hills Boulevard and arrested
the driver on a misdemeanor warrant.
May 5
Officers stopped a vehicle that ran a stop sign at Beckers Lane and El Paso Boulevard. The
driver was arrested for being under the influence of alcohol.
MSPD stopped a speeding vehicle in the 00 block of Manitou Avenue. The officers found
probable cause to arrest a 60-year-old man from Fountain for driving under the influence of
alcohol.
Officers responded to a cold criminal mischief report in the 600 block of Manitou Avenue. One
person was found to have keyed a neighbor’s vehicle due to a parking issue. MSPD resolved the
issue on scene and the victim declined to press charges.
Found property was turned in to MSPD.
Officers stopped a weaving vehicle near Old Man’s Trail and El Paso Boulevard. The driver was
arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
May 6
MSPD was asked to help the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation near 31st
Street and Highway 24. Probable cause was found to arrest a 31-year-old Florissant man for
driving under the influence of drugs.
At 0159 hours, officers stopped a vehicle near 21st Street and Broadway Avenue and arrested the
driver for being under the influence of alcohol.
In the 300 block of Manitou Avenue, MSPD contacted a juvenile male suspected of theft. He
was found to be a runaway and was returned to his parents in Colorado Springs.
While responding to a call for service in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue, officers located a
man with a local misdemeanor warrant. He was taken into custody, cited for the original call for
service and booked into CJC.
At 0519 hours, MSPD stopped a vehicle near Cave of the Winds Road and Highway 24. The
driver was arrested on a local misdemeanor warrant.
Officers stopped a vehicle in the 3200 block of West Colorado Avenue and discovered the driver
had a local felony warrant. A 50-year-old Colorado Springs man was issued a personal
recognizance bond and released.
A debit card was found and turned in at the police station.
May 7
A 21-year-old Colorado Springs man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and
having an open container of alcohol in the 200 block of Beckers Lane. Officers searched the
vehicle and located an illegal weapon.
At 0218 hours, MSPD contacted a man in Soda Springs Park who had local felony warrants
(check forgery), took him into custody and booked him into CJC.
