Around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, the Manitou Springs Police Department received a report of vehicular criminal trespass in the Duclo Avenue area. Officers responded and received a description of a vehicle similar to previous calls regarding similar crimes.

Through their previous investigation, officers were able to use a partial license plate to search for and eventually locate the suspected vehicle in the 400-500 block of El Paso Boulevard shortly after, at approximately 7:40 p.m.

A person in the van matched the description of a suspect, and a second person was arrested when he showed up to meet the other person in the parking lot.

Officers arrested Brian Lude, 25, and Beth Reichenberg, 39.

Reichenberg was charged with one count of possession of a financial transaction device (felony Class 6), six counts of criminal trespass auto (Class 1 misdemeanor), one count of theft (Class 1 misdemeanor), and one count of criminal mischief (Class 1 misdemeanor).

Lude was charged with one count of criminal trespass auto (Class 1 misdemeanor), one count of theft (Class 1 misdemeanor), and one count of criminal mischief (Class 1 misdemeanor).

MSPD is still investigating the recent crimes, but has good reason to believe they are linked to previous instances of vehicular criminal trespass. Due to the nature of this investigation, no further information can be provided at this time.
