The Manitou Springs boys golf team had its best showing of the season, taking second place at the Sept. 7 Tri-Peaks League tournament at Collegiate Peaks in Buena Vista.
Senior Davis Mack led the way, shooting a 12-over-par 84 to take fourth individually. He struggled on the front nine, making three double-bogeys and a triple to shoot 46.
He was just two over on the back and can put himself in a great position to contend for a league win with a bit more consistency, some-thing he has struggled with this season.
Senior Alex Hansen shot 84 and sophomore Jack Clifford was the third Mustang to break 90, with an 89.
The Mustangs head back to the Collegiate Peaks area on Thursday, Sept. 9, as they compete at the Salida Invitational.
