As of Tuesday, May 17, El Paso County had experienced 1,433 cases, 25 hospitalizations and no deaths during the previous 14 days, according to the county public health department. In the two weeks between April 26 and May 10, those statistics were 1,104 cases, 22 hospitalizations and one death.

People aged 60 to 69 lead all other groups for hospitalizations, with 1,510 since March 1, 2020; the 70- to 79-year-old age group follows with 1,310.

The 80- to 89-year-old age group accounts for 462 deaths since March 2020.

El Paso County has dropped to fourth among Colorado’s 10 most-populous counties, with a total of 216 deaths per 100,000 people.
