APRIL 8

Officers responded to a petty theft call for service that occurred in the 000 block of Manitou Avenue. At this time, there is no suspect information. 

Officers responded to an unattended death call for service in the 100 block of Oklahoma Road. No signs of foul play were discovered.


APRIL 9

The MSPD responded to a report of a disturbance. Upon officers’ arrival, all parties involved were on scene. Officers discovered this was a family disturbance, and no one on scene wanted to pursue charges. After an investigation was completed, one of the parties involved accepted a courtesy transport to a mental health facility by the Manitou Springs Crisis Response team. A report was taken to document the incident.

The MSPD conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver was found to have two active warrants for his arrest. The driver was taken into custody without incident and cited for minor traffic offenses. The driver was then booked into CJC for his warrants. 

Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding on Manitou Avenue. The vehicle was stopped and the male driving the vehicle had a strong smell of alcohol coming from his breath. The man was arrested for suspected DWAI. He was cited and released.


APRIL 10

Officers responded to a cold harassment call for service. Officers contacted the involved parties and cited one of the parties for harassment.

The MSPD located a male suspect known to have an active warrant for his arrest at Soda Springs Park. Officers quickly took the male party into custody and later booked him into CJC for his warrant.

A male was involved in a traffic accident near Highway 24 and Manitou Avenue, striking the guardrail. The male had admitted to drinking, which was the result of the crash. He was arrested for suspected DUI, cited and released.


APRIL 11

Officers responded to a cold theft call for service on Capitol Hill Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and investigated the theft. At the time of this report, no arrests were made. 

A male was spotted on W. Colorado Avenue who had a known active warrant. Officers attempted to contact him. The male fled Officers but was later arrested and booked into CJC.


APRIL 12

The MSPD responded to a report of theft. The suspect was found nearby, and while conducting an investigation, the suspect provided a false name. The suspect was taken into custody and medically evaluated. Once the medical evaluation was complete, the suspect was released with a citation.

Officers responded to a cold criminal trespass of an automobile call for service. Officers contacted the reporting parties and took a report. At the time of this report, no arrests have been made.

A wallet was found and turned into the Manitou Springs Police Department. The wallet was entered as found property. 

In the 900 block of Manitou Avenue, a male on a sports bike was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license, no insurance or valid registration. The bike was towed and impounded.


APRIL 13

Officers arrested a highly intoxicated female who punched out her boyfriend’s window at his business establishment. She was arrested for domestic violence and booked into CJC. 

While on routine patrol, officers observed a male resident of Manitou Springs known to have multiple warrants. Officers attempted to stop him and he refused to stop until officers caught him at Lovers Lane and Canon Avenue. The male party had four warrants out of Manitou Springs, one out of El Paso County, and was charged with obstruction and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers were dispatched to the Manitou Springs Skate Park for a theft from a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed a broken out window of a car and were advised a black bag was taken out of the vehicle. An investigation is ongoing.


APRIL 14

Officers observed a male walking in the 3600 block of W. Colorado Avenue. Officers knew this male to have an outstanding local misdemeanor warrant. The male was taken into custody and booked into El Paso Criminal Justice Center without incident.

Officers responded to a physical disturbance near Highway 24 and Cliff Road involving a subject with a baseball bat. After investigation, a male party was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County jail on felony assault charges.
