DECEMBER 10
MSPD Officers took a report of a possible sexual assault which allegedly took place on Dec. 4. Victim interview completed. Awaiting SANE exam and victim to turn in clothing from the day of the incident.
DECEMBER 12
Officers with the Manitou Springs Police Department responded to a report of criminal trespass in progress. The person responsible for the rented room was past check out time and found to have an active warrant for her arrest. The female party was taken into custody and booked into CJC.
DECEMBER 13
Item found in evidence processing room; taken in as found property
A Manitou Springs Police Officer conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle for displaying expired registration. The driver was found to have a misdemeanor traffic warrant for his arrest and was to be cleared by issuing a new court date and released on a PR Bond.
Officers responded to a two-vehicle traffic accident involving a moving versus parked vehicle. Neither driver was cited and a report was pulled to document the crash.
An officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. Upon contact with the driver, it was determined that the vehicle did not have insurance, had extensive expired registration and the driver did not have a valid driver’s license. The vehicle was impounded, and the driver was served a summons.
Officers responded to a traffic accident along with CSPD. CSPD investigated the traffic accident while MSPD located illicit drugs on one of the involved parties. He was charged for the drugs and released.
The officer responded to a welfare check in the 1200 block of Manitou Avenue. A male was arrested and served paperwork for an outstanding Douglas County warrant.
DECEMBER 15
Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and observed the driver and passenger swap seats and nearly leave. Both parties were subsequently arrested for DUI.
A male came to the lobby of the PD to retrieve safekeeping items. He was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was booked into CJC after a medical clearance at Penrose hospital.
MSPD officers responded to a hit and run accident. The suspect was contacted by phone and admitted to leaving the scene of an accident. She will be served a summons at a later date.
DECEMBER 16
MSPD Officers took a report of vandalism in the area of Ruxton Avenue and Springs Street. Officers located numerous street signs and bridge railings to have been covered with graffiti. No suspect information at this time.
