NOVEMBER 19

MSPD officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Manitou Crisis Response Team assisted the Green Mountain Falls Marshall’s Office with a suicidal check the welfare in their jurisdiction. MCR ultimately determined M1 criteria were not met and provided resources on scene. During the contact with the subject, she disclosed details of a sexual assault that had occurred. MCR took a case report for the Agency Assist to document the victim’s statements. The overall investigation will be conducted by GMF.

Officers responded to a traffic accident involving a District 11 school bus on Crystal Park Road. A case report was taken to document the crash.


NOVEMBER 20

The Manitou Springs Police Department responded to a report from a person that believed that they had found suspected drugs in front of a local business in the 700 block of Manitou Avenue. The suspected drugs appeared to be methamphetamines and was taken to be entered as evidence for destruction.

An officer with the Manitou Springs Police Department observed a male party known to have an active warrant for his arrest in the 900 block of Manitou Avenue. The arrest warrant was confirmed prior to the officer making contact with the suspect. The male suspect was taken into custody and booked into CJC without incident.


NOVEMBER 21

Officers responded to a disturbance. The incident was determined to be an unfounded domestic violence incident.

Officers responded to a call for service regarding a check the welfare. Officers soon found out an adult female left her home in the middle of the night and is now missing. The reporting party along with officers made efforts to locate her which were unsuccessful. The missing female was entered as missing in the national database.

Officers located an individual unconscious in a running vehicle near the intersection of Golden Lane and W. Colorado Avenue. Upon contacting the individual to check his welfare, officers determined he was under the influence of drugs. He was consequently arrested for DUI.

Officers were on traffic patrol when we noticed a vehicle traveling west on Manitou Ave with expired registration. Upon contact the driver did not have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and had fictitious plates, The driver was served with a summons and the vehicle was impounded.


NOVEMBER 22

MSPD officers contacted a vehicle parked outside a local business in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue. Drug paraphernalia was seen a plain view, and a probable cause search was conducted yielding in recovered methamphetamine and fentanyl. The female driver of the car fled on foot. A warrant will be issued for the female party.


NOVEMBER 23

Officers attempted to stop a vehicle driving without taillights near 32nd and W. Colorado Avenue. The vehicle fled the area committing multiple traffic infractions in the process. Officers were able to identify the driver and issue her a summons for multiple misdemeanors.

Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and weaving in the 300 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver was subsequently arrested for DUID and also charged for possession of a controlled substance.

Officers were on patrol when they noticed a vehicle with expired temporary registration in the 400 block of Manitou Avenue. The vehicle was stopped, and the temp plate was deemed to be forged. The driver was arrested and booked into CJC for forgery.

Officers responded to check the welfare in the 700 block of Duclo. The subject was found to have an outstanding El Paso County arrest warrant. A Manitou Springs man was taken into custody and transported to the El Paso County Jail and served a summons for resisting arrest.

Officers responded to a possible child neglect situation at a local hotel. Although the parties were not arrested, DHS has been notified.


NOVEMBER 24

Officers stopped a vehicle for careless driving near the 2700 block of West Colorado Avenue. The driver was found to be operating the vehicle under the influence of drugs. The subject was issued summons for DUI among other charges.

MSPD officers received a complaint of ATVs and dirt bikes on the public roads. MSPD Officers located three ATVs and two dirt bikes headed east out of Manitou Springs on Colorado Ave. MSPD Officers attempted to stop the vehicles. The vehicle failed to stop and drove in a reckless manner evading officers. Due to public safety interest MSPD Officers terminated and did not pursue.

MSPD officers responded to a report of a cold DV at the address of 23 Mountain View Road. Investigation ongoing.


NOVEMBER 25

MSPD officers contacted a transient for trespassing in the 2000 block of Manitou Avenue. The transient lied about his identity and then tried to run from officers. He was tased and subdued.
