The Carnegie Library (701 Manitou Ave.) is still a construction zone as the historic building gets an interior remodel and new addition. The City of Manitou reported that work was well underway in March, with the window screens taken down and sent off for restoration, and the beloved giraffe mural removed in one piece and safely tucked away in storage. By May, the new addition was coming together, and on June 25 tour groups saw the progress thus far. The project’s estimated completion date is October 2024.
