A car accident occurred in the 100 block of Capitol Hill Avenue; Manitou Springs Police officers responded at 2143 hours.
MAY 7
Officers responded to the 100 block of Manitou Avenue, where an alleged assault had occurred. Eventually, the intoxicated suspect was transported to a hospital under involuntary commitment. While at the hospital, the suspect assaulted an MSPD officer and a Colorado Springs Police Department officer, and was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on multiple charges.
MAY 8
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office dispatch notified MSPD that a man on Spruce Trail reported that someone had violated a protection order by coming to his residence.
Officers responded to a disturbance/assault in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue. The suspect eventually was arrested and charged with crimes including third-degree assault, theft, assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest. He was booked into CJC.
MAY 9
An in-progress domestic violence incident was reported in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue. One suspect was arrested and transported.
MAY 10
Near Crystal Park Road and Manitou Avenue, officers stopped a vehicle being driven in the wrong lanes and swerving. The driver was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol.
An officer observed a speeding vehicle on U.S. Highway 24 and stopped it. Dispatch informed the officer that the driver had a personal recognizance bondable warrant from Greenwood Village in Arapahoe County. The driver was served with a PR bond and released.
MSPD responded to assist the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in the 2600 block of St. Anthony Street, where a residence was reportedly being broken into. Manitou officers arrived first and located a woman attempting to break in. She was identified and found to have multiple felony warrants, then was taken into custody. Due to several medical complaints, she was evaluated at a hospital before being booked into CJC.
MAY 11
Officers stopped a vehicle after it nearly swerved into a curb in the 400 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver was arrested for being under the influence of alcohol.
MAY 12
A vehicle was stopped in the 100 block of Manitou Avenue. The driver was arrested for being under the influence of drugs.
At 0325 hours, MSPD responded to a check-the-welfare request in the 300 block of Oak Place; the accusations of domestic violence were deemed unfounded.
Officers served a trespass notice in the 900 block of Manitou Avenue.
Someone called 911, then hung up. MSPD located the people involved and arrested a 27-year-old Manitou Springs man for violating a protection order.
MAY 13
While driving east in the 400 block of Manitou Avenue, officers observed a woman walking along the sidewalk wearing only underwear, shoes and socks from the waist down. They stopped to check on her. She was found to have warrants for a local felony and a local misdemeanor.
