The 29th annual dessert-flinging shenanigans took over Memorial Park on Saturday, Jan. 27, to the enjoyment of hundreds of locals and visitors. Marlo Anderson, founder of the National Day Calendar, was on hand to certify the last Saturday of January as National Fruitcake Day.

No queen was crowned this year. One woman tossed her fruitcake 78 feet, but didn’t compete in any other categories.
