Absent the Colorado Springs Independent and the Business Journal, I would never have written for any newspaper. But after the voters kicked me to the curb, John Weiss offered me a freelance job covering local politics. That was 1997 — and I’m still writing about Colorado 26 years later.
It has been a fun and wonderful experience.
All the friends, all the good times, all the joy and, most of all, the great stories we covered. I hope that the Indy and CSBJ can stay in business for another 30-plus years.
If not, we’ll have to help throw a funeral celebration that will dazzle the world … a party that none of us would enjoy!
